Pressure relief valve

A pressure relief valve is a safety appliance which is capable of instantaneouly evacuating a high flow rate. It protect pipeline circuits against pressure due to sudden changes of regime in the networks (water hammer).

for exemple :
a valve being closed too quickly, sudden movement of an air pocket in the pipe , pumps stopping.
